Knowing when your back is at the target...

Inspired by the Ideas on the Release video, I am keen to improve my ability to get my back to face the target at top of downswing. I assume this the same as turning your shoulders 90*.

What is the best way of knowing that you are turning enough? I can only think of i) getting into address position; ii) holding a club across chest and iii) turning until handle gets past half way between feet.

Are there any others?
