Lagging Clubhead Takeaway

Can a swing with LCT be the death of someone that struggles with push/push fades with the driver? I LOVE the feeling I get with LCT but I'm wondering if it's one of the reasons I struggle with the driver. My buddy wants me to totally eliminate it from my swing but I think my swing is much more fluid with it. Not to mention my drives (when hit good) are 30 yards past his good drives.

PS I only use it with the driver.

You can get a little out of kilter at the top with LCT by adding right wrist cock (kiss of death) in transition; or by slipping into float loading on the way down unintentionally, and failing to square the club face in consequence.

Extensor action and hands like clamps could be what you need to work on.

If you LCT with the driver, make sure you go down before you unwind because the extra force the LCT helps you get in the transition can lead to a handle first open face.

When I mess around with a lagging club head and then float load on the transition the results are really hit or miss, when its going good its just a very pure feeling.

I have a tendency to not fan the face open on the back swing and keep it shut, this with a slight over the top move tends to produce hooks, doesnt a LCT takeaway keep it shut on the way back for a longer period of time?

Same here, not sure if that's right or not. Yesterday at the range I experimented with opening the face on the backswing with mixed results. Right now it's just so hard to predict what I'm gonna do with the driver.

There's definitely a lot of force but it still feels pretty smooth to me. Last night I was thinking about the "marble in the shaft". I have a feeling I'm not shooting out the marble the right way with the driver.

To me it is just a way to get the body one step ahead of the club or at least feel like it is one step ahead. You still must be able to square up the face in time for impact.
