LCT and swaying

Anyone have trouble with this?

My sequence is as follows:

-step on right foot, club to the top
-left shoulder forward and under the chin (toward target)
-pull downish left hand with a little 'toss'

I was hitting it very solid and 'fadey' ,but lately I am hitting everything higher and shorter. I feel/think I am moving way off the ball after I step on the right foot and over compensating for that coming down. I also seem to be finishing off balance.

Yep, same here. Step on the right, step on the left, really trying to just have a "pure" swinging feeling. Contact feels GREAT but result = higher and shorter. That was my experience from last summer. I think that's normal since you are not going to have as much lean on the shaft so you are increasing the loft.

Everyone likes to pimp the LCT here but I'm not a big fan as I had the same problem. Pivot rhythm and balance are always two things I need to constantly monitor and for some reason the LCT throws it off.

Hopefully Brian will chime in....

ditto for me on the LCT...i instead set up w\ the grip leaning forward and "up" (slightly arched left wrist) and am wondering why i draw the ball so much easier with this crenshaw-sindelar looking hands forward and arched up????????????

When I first learned LCT I had the opposite problem. Don't know why but I had the tendency of my head staying dead center or actually moving a little forward. Two fat rounds and a video camera later I fixed it and now LOVE LCT. It has really improved my ballstriking. Don't know about length but I had plane issues before and it gets me in the right spot on my backswing now.

I had the same things going on till I fixed my set-up. I had to tilt a little more to the right...ala NSA/Luke Donaldish. Then turn around your center, the back of your neck. Set-up is a big key IMO.

I have been playing with LCT for months now and it has produced really good results until now. Now is just a nightmare. I am at a loss, and I think it is just time for a video.

That was one of my problems also. For me it's part of my routine to check that my head is just inside my right foot. It's instant axis tilt!

2 things:

1) Make sure you aren't lagging it so much that the club stays too outside the hands which will facilitate a bit more out/in path on the downswing an can lead to high/right/short

2) Make sure before you complete your downswing you allow your wrists to fully cock and not get "under" the sweetspot on the downswing.

I have no doubt that all of my issues stem from the clubface as most golf swing ailments do. It is so frustrating for this to continue to be an issue as I have been playing well for a while now.

Just a thought on LCT. It really de-junks people that start the swing out of sequence or weakly with the hands and wrists. Eventually, the LCT might morph into something thats a little loose, or the player loads it too hard or whatever. Then, like all other things in the Matrix, you can back off and make it so to the naked eye, it doesn't seem like you are doing it. The backswing will start from the inner rotation but you control the club earlier in the backswing.

Hey, that's what I was going to say!

That's what Brian told me in my last lesson.

I can feel myself bend the shaft with the inner rotation and Brian told me not to worry about not using as obvious a LCT as some people do (no need for everyone to necessarily to do the "full Bobby Jones").
