Left foot spins out

My dad kinda walks like a penguin and I notice that my feet flare out at 45 deg angles in a comfortable stance, too. But my left foot spints out and points toward the target on my follow thru. I can keep it firmly planted and almost perpendicular to the target line if I really concentrate.

So my question is what are the consequences of such a spint out. Could it be the root cause of the fact that I often hit against a soft left side? And should I not do it.

It's my personal opinion that you can have both out. I feel I swing better that way. I think I read somewhere that you can use your hips better that way. Don't know, works for me...

dsmith,
If you can pivot correctly, there is nothing wrong with addressing/swinging with both feet flared out. In fact, flaring the right foot cures a common amateur big problem, i.e. overswaying on the backswing. It is nearly impossible to sway (to the right) as the weight would have to go onto the toe of your right foot....
As for the left foot moving on the follow through, well think Laura Davis. Its worked very well for her over the years..Its probably your body reacting to bone pressures in your swing and to restrict it may be detrimental...:)
