Left knee behind ball

I was at the range the other day and tried the lifting left heel / left knee behind ball (righty) backswing idea, ala Jack, Johnny, Vijay etc. and found I was hitting the ball much better. I know this probably is a band aid for another fault but I can't seem to figure out what. You guys have any experience with this ?

Bigger shoulder turn, more of a "pure swing", better chain snappppppppp...........?

Hitting it better or further?

The idea of having my left knee go out towards the ball on the backswing helped me stop sliding my hips back on the backswing (as opposed to turning them). Glad that it helped you too.

i've always thought that if you need to turn your hips and knees that much, then domino efffect that the knee should go inward and towards your trail leg, and not forwards towards the ball, bringing weight on to toes, falling forward and loss of height

I feel the ball is traveling straighter more consistently. I think maybe I had hip slide issues and maybe this has helped. I know it helps me get to the left side better - it appears that the left heel going down is what starts the downswing. For some reason this has improved compression / ball flight etc.
I'm still a novice at this game so I'm constantly tinkering, I appreciate the input.
