Left Wrist Injuries

Have any of you experienced left wrist injuries due to golf, and what have you found to be the cause of the injury or injuries? I think that practicing from mats, or from very hard ground may be a couple of the culprits.

Add excessive bowing of the left wrist through impact and trying to "Bang down" on the ball. This is a great way to develop left wrist problems.

The only times I get wrist problems are after hitting from thick rough or when I come across the line EXCESSIVELY and pull the club back on plane on the downswing.

Brady, your point is valid when you assume that the release is done by the left hand instead of centrifugal/centripetal force and that the hands are moved by the hands/arms (instead of the body). It's necessary to know Brian's whole teaching concept in order judge it.

It probably doesn' t fit into this thread, but why do YOU think does Goosen play that well?
I followed him durng a practice round in Heidelberg. Without camera hi swing looked great- when I looked at the stills- not that great :).

Redgoat,
From what I remember reading... you would like the left wrist flat, but not bowed, or arched through impact.

Axel,

I think you may have read more into my post than intended.

I completely respect Brian and in no way was judging anything he teaches.

I was just commenting on the post by lagster, having had this problem personally.

Sorry for the confusion.

Playing and having fun with shots from thick rough - You have to be sooooooooooo aggressive on those shots that you really put your body through alot - I hurt my wrist once and my left shoulder twice doing that.....

Another election would be following bad advice on the swing from your magazines.....usually asking impossible feats of human endurance after showing a photo of some pro NOT doing what they said or posing an image...

And another thought is mindlessly banging your driver for 200 balls in a row at your local range... something which amuses me no end when I see it at the range....
