Athleticism pays, period. You can see it in this swing. I love watching videos of your students, Brian. Thanks for another great clip.

Brian, why is she not a flipper? I would have probably ruined the girl by adding a little wrist cock on her backswing, eliminating her cast, and tried to narrow her downswing to move low point forward. How did you know to leave that sweep release alone?

Well....

Brian, why is she not a flipper?

Well, eh, because, eh, you see, the clubhead doesn't pass here left arm until WAY WAY WAY past impact.

:D

Experience + Knowledge + HAVING TO = Results.

Talent helps too.

Her head moved a lil to the right, and so did her body. How is she able to play good golf?

Our friend and colleague Tom Bartlett is one of golf's best ball-strikers.

He is also VERY UN-IMPRESSIBLE with regards to other ball-strikers.

I think he has been impressed by David Toms' mid-iron distance control, Fred Couples, and maybe one other person.

Until he played 18 holes with Lindsay this Spring.

She is a superior striker of the ball, and can be near PING MAN like at times.

I have taught here since she was 7.

I have tried everything that has EVER BEEN DISCUSSED on this forum or another on her golf swing.

This is it! This is HER golf swing!

Very similar to Kevin Shields on the backswing. He's pretty good at golf as well.

What is the "step and turn" swing? Care to elaborate?

I wish I could swing like that! VERY NICE.

Like in the video "The Soft Draw Pattern," where I show how a good "back and forth drill" will begin with a STEP on the right foot before a turn.

Exactly like I just saw a book literalist teach someone in a youtube video, an OBVIOUS rip-off from Soft Draw.

(It is a rip-off if you borrow something without attribution and rip the guy on your website all the time).:p

How much different is "Do it right" from your soft draw pattern. My current swing is pretty much soft draw with a very old school looking pivot, and a less inside takeaway.

Beautiful job, Brian.

Kentucky chix are awesome, but it breaks my heart she's playin' for the enemy - how did that happen?:)

I see this as a little SD-ish takeaway with a NHA2/nicklaus-ish pivot (brian will probably mock me for this). I'd love to see her start waxing the women who are hitting hybrids from 165 yds on the LPGA in a couple years. Clearly she could throw a baseball about 50 yds further than half the top ten LPGA money list.

Go Lindsay Go!

It would be nice to see an American girl run over the LPGA with power!

Ah Ha! I have that video and will watch it again. Is her pattern anything like the softdraw pattern besides the "step"?

Thanks

Could you post a driver swing too? I like to try and pick out the differences/similarities between iron swings and driver swings.

Creamer and Miyazato (I like her long socks!

i couldn't agree more.

I also like the ultimate "polisher" -- Jiyai Shin -- d-plane control extraordinaire, and she appreciates every moment of making a great living playing golf. The ultimate non-brat. She loves golf.

I would like to see Wie reach her potential, and live up to the hype.

If she ditched her coach, starting swinging like Snead again and bombing the ball like she did when she was 14, quit being happy with 19th place, and parked her parents and Nike reps in a garage somewhere, I'd agree.

You and i are the last two people watching the LPGA in the US. Might be a dying sport. Maybe we can keep it alive until an american bomber like lindsay hits the scene.
