loft and initial direction

I have been unable to find a thread with the information I'm asking so if one exists just let me know and then delete this after a couple days.

My question is when there is an error in the clubface shape, do more lofted clubs show that error more than lower lofter clubs when it comes to initial starting direction? As I look at the D-Plane, when I tilt it either right or left, it seems clear to me that a higher normal to the clubface the club has the more right or left the ball begins.

I assume you're talking about the effect of lie angles that are not fit for the player - higher lofts produce more offline shots. That's why clubfitters rarely worry about drivers and low lofted clubs, but try to get the lies on the short irons just right.

Think about it this way - if you took it to the extreme and had the clubhead with the sole pointing perpendicular to the ground, your lob wedge is now pointing around 60 degrees off target, where your driver is around 10 degrees off.

not necessarily but it does fit in with what I'm saying.

thanks
