Lookin' for a carry bag

My bag is on it's last legs. Looking for a real light bag that holds the full compliment of clubs. Needs to have some legs so it stands on its own. The lighter the better as I'm advancing in age but want to walk as long as possible.

Thanks, Cliff

Ogio Vision SS with the Shling!

I've got the vision and like it but I would suggest the Flight SS from Ogio if weight is the main concern. The other alternative would be something very lightweight like a sun mountain 3.5 (but it is only going to last you a season or so).

Never heard of the Ogio. And the Shling thing is something else. Has anyone used it? Does it stay securely on the shoulders? Something that different must take some time to get use too. I noticed the Flight is 4.8 lbs while the Vision is over 9 lls. What doubles the weight?

Thanks fella's

WHOOPSEEY!

I meant the Flight. :)

I have the flight and i walk 95% of my rounds. The Shling IS DIFFERENT and takes some getting used too but it is VASTLY superior to any other walking bag i've ever had. Plus the quality of Ogio is the best of any brand.

The main thing is that all the weight is on the TOP of your shoulders and not on the back. The weight of bag is trying to push you down rather than bend you back like a backpack or normal carry bag.

Try it out at the store.

wow, really? - I've had sun mountain bags that have held up significanty longer than other brands (many years), but I haven't used their ultra-light bag. I would put them in the 'top quality for your dollar' category based on everything I've used of theirs in the past.

In general, Sun Mountain bags are very durable and last several years, but I have heard the 3.5 isn't near as durable as the other bags in the SM line.

My friend had his OGIO bag replaced twice under warranty due to defects. After the third one had a strap problem, the store exchanged it and moved him to a different brand; I don't know if others have had problems with OGIO too, or if he simply had bad luck with that brand.

I've had sun mountain bags in the past that hold up like tanks. But it seems that they went with thinner, less durable materials on the SL 3.5 to get the overal weight down to 3.5 lbs. I still think it's a great bag and a good deal, it's just not as durable as the other models.

The vision is 5.8 lbs, not 9 lbs. Basically, it's got the torq strap (the flight doesn't even though it says so on the website), the external ball holder, and the zipperless ball pouch. Basically, the Vision is what you want if you occassionally ride (you have to at my club on the weekends before 2), and the flight is what you want if you're mostly going to walk. I really love the torq strap to keep the bag from moving around when on a cart. I think the woode divider is also slightly more robust on the Vision.

I have a Flight and I find it hard to fit a full set in. Everything seems to get jammed up. Otherwise the weight of the bag and its construction is awesome. Any tips for arranging my bag better?

Pay more attention to how you fit them. This bag has separated dividers for everything and nothing really gets stuck for me compared to many other bags that do not have the separated dividers all the way down the bag.

Using plastic tubes: if THEY can be shoved into the bag, then there is no gettting the club themselves jammed - because it is the grips that rub each other that screws stuff up. Still, if the top isn't large enough diameter, the heads can be too crowded as well. Esp. with more rescue woods...

I find its the grips getting jammed together. It is really starting to irk me. Was wondering if someone had a unique system of packing a standbag that maybe I am missing.

14 tubes keeps the grips separated and in total increases the bag weight by something in the order of 2 lbs. max.

which is a ton of extra weight if your're carrying your bag. Be OK if you got it on a push cart. I personally love my OGIO with the woode system
