lower body sway

im trying to turn around my spine but towards the top of my backswing my lower half sways to the right a little.

any advice on how i can help stop this?

Im working on the same sort of thing. I found that if I think about moving my back hip,glute,and thigh backwards...away from the target line that helps "deepen" your turn. Brian has a good article on this in his Perfect Pivot part 1 thread.

I think you may be turning your upper body/chest, too far....this puts strain on the lower spine/hips and threrefore they react (in your case the lower sway)..

Try turning to about 70% of previous amount....

The backswing turn consists of 70-80 degrees of chest turn, with 20 degrees of shoulder blade movement, which gives you the full 90 degrees shoulder turn at the top......
 
I agree with puttmad....A swing thought I use to shorten the swing is to keep the right elbow tucked, this keeps me from over turning my upper body and causing me to sway and lift up out of my posture. When I say tucked I don't mean like old Tom Morris but elbow pointing down not jammed into your side. Think Hogan not Nicklaus.
