Lowering Ball Flight

The course i play is very windy and i struggle to hit a penetrating flight with my short irons. Its still high when i put the ball back in my stance, favour my left side and hit a punch. What is the key to obtaining this flight

If you are putting the ball back in your stance and limiting your axis tilt then you need to take more club and swing easier.

The harder your swing and the more lag pressure you create the more spin you will put on the ball and spin = lift.

Grab 2 or 3 more clubs and due the above but play a draw and swing easy.

In addition to taking extra club like Jim said above, choke up an inch or two on the grip. This really stiffens up the shaft and you can hit it hard without worrying about the ball ballooning.
