I watch this tape by Bobby Schaeffer (GSEM) and it is talking about using an open stance, open shoulder (all 30 degree open to the target) than swing outside the target line along the shoulder line, loop back inside and hit the ball toward the target line with a flat left wrist and bent right wrist.

The theory behind as demonstrated in the tape is it is easy to turn back and swing up (follow through to finish) along the plane line with an open hip and open shoulder.

My questions are then:

1. This open stance is by text book definition will produce a slide?
2. It seems to work especially for older age golfers? since the turning back is much easier.
3. Do you suggest using this approach?

An open stance make it HARDER to turn BACK, a much bigger problem with less flexible golfers.

An open stance makes it HARDER to swivel, Harder to straighten your left leg, but easier to to keep the club on plane past the ball and easier to sustain lag pressure (maybe).

I have seen it work (Lee Buck Trevino) but he was a BIG hooker first.

I don't advise it to many people....at all.

Bobby seems to have a very efficent swing for POWER, but like lots of four-barrel guys, just average accuracy.
