many interconnected questions on NHA, Couples, #3 PP

After using NHA and having a nice run last fall, I think I finally overcooked it. Fore right! I'm trying to move more towards neutral. In the process of doing so, I think I discovered PP#3. I can feel the sweet spot against my finger in the backswing and to a lesser degree at impact. BUT, it does not happen all the time. Sometimes, I rotate my left and right arms so much during takeaway that I end up w/ my right palm essentially facing the sky. This leads to in to out swings which result in hooks, pushes, and some flips (I get stuck behind my hips).

So, what I'm facing now is the dreaded two way miss. If and when I manage to keep my right index finger and palm roughly perpendicular to the ground (or parallel to the plane) in my BS, I can pull off a nice shot, particularly with the shorter clubs. I get a sense of lag and get that oh so pleasant thump sound of good contact. I've murdered a couple drives this way but I make myself look very bad more often than not.

Cliff notes:
overbaked NHA
clubface open due to over rotation
over rotation also causing in to out
long clubs gone hayware

How does one kill the over-rotation? Is that really my problem?
If one wanted to look like Freddy at the top, how would one do that?

Last point -- the NHA backswing just doesn't "feel" very comfortable to me any more.
