Hi,

I am trying to better understand your material about 3d jacobs and your method.
I have a few questions for U.

1. What is the difference between torque and rotation? For example, alpha beta and gamma are torque or rotations?
2. What are the optimal values (or ranges) of alpha beta and gamma torques (or rotations)?
3. Let's speak about gamma torque. You said that it should be applied at the mid-downswing. My idea was that the least rotation of the wrist (in terms of gamma) the better, because the face of the club is more likely to be square at the impact. What is wrong in my interpretation?

Thank you for your help.

Here's a typical set of discussions for this.

There's also some interesting details like in some instances you apply a torque early and get the rotation a bit later into impact. I love that kind of stuff, since the 'system' of golfer and club do 'respond' as the physics allows/mandates

Thank you so much dbl!

2 questions:

1) I didn't understand yet the different between torque and rotation;

2) just to be sure: did the 3 kinds of torque change from 2003 to 2015? Referring to average and position.
The shaft point initially inside the ball on the downswing, applying some negative beta torque (the carry). When the leading arm is parallel to the ground, start to shift in positive beta torque (the tumble), applying positive gamma torque (twistaway) and Alpha torque?!

Thank you

Good afternoon Brian... I mean the great video you did on july 2003 about the explanation of Alpha, Beta and Gamma..The science of Smash.
Thank you.
