Well, for being under the weather a bit, the old Italian held up pretty good.

We talked D Plane, snap release vs. sweep release, snapping the Kinetic Chain, the Ryder Cup, and even told a Stan Stopa bedtime story.

Our host were Mike & Mike (Finney & Jacobs) Damon Lucas, and for the last hour Tom Bartlett.

I felt like the show was better than the first, and by my standards a solid B.

What did the attendees think?

I thought it was much better. More precise discussion of d plane, better sound and video...oh, and Mike Jacobs looks like he is joining us from the death star.

Good Show

Show had a good flow to it. Lots of information discussed that YOU decide on! $5 a week is a steal. See you next week!

Thanks Brian

Content excellent. The D-plane stuff has me really re-thinking my impact position and goal of getting those very compressed sounding shots with lots of lean.

Technically better than the first show, but still need to improve manzella audio.

Also I think you find the chat comments distracting - I think the way to handle that is sort of what was going on last night - let one of the other Manzella guys, like Finney, read those (maybe even turn off on your computer) and have them filter and verbally ask you the questions and comment on technical problems and then you can disregard chat comments. It's much smoother when you are just responding to verbal questions from the others instead of reading text and deciding what to respond to.

The audio connection finney has is very good.

I will be signing up again.

I thought the analogies both you and Tom made regarding Tiger not playing in the Ryder Cup were very interesting - I had never thought of it that way and you just might be right! We'll see

As a 8 who's just trying to get better I thought the D plane discussion was interesting but difficult to understand the main takeway for the average player. I'm thinking the point is you've learned it's ok have less forward shaft lean and guys like DT figured that out a long time ago.

Arm lift discussion at the end was helpful to me as I'm working hard on a better blend of arm swing and body pivot.

SS story was a great one...very funny. Thanks for doing the show. I'd also like to set up a two hour lesson and maybe even a round of golf in Pinehurst with you after the Ryder Cup so please let me know if that's possible. Jim

Brian,

I would have to agree with this post. The audio has to be improved and a set schedule of topics for the first hour and then maybe you can answers questions the rest of the show.

Wireless head phones are a must as well for you. I know the program you are using very well as I have been working with it to do live golf lessons. Also with my music recording background I can help you with the sound.

One of the things I feel that is very important is that you have your props set up so you don’t have to do that during the show and I would like to see all of you and the club head when you are swinging.

Give me a call I would be happy to help you. I feel you could have something really good here and I would like to help.

First off, fabulous show. Big improvement over show #1 technically. I will be back.

I agree with the comment that JRJ made about the D plane. Incredible information, but I am trying to figure out how I use this to improve my game or how I would even diagnose my shots now. This might explain why I struggle so much with my wedges jetting out to the right while my longer clubs are hooking. Maybe the mystery has been solved....too much forward lean?

I loved Brian's idea of the dry erase board. I think that would make the discussions go much better for those of us that are visual.

I also wanted to say that of the other three instructors Tom Bartlett is in on the same page as Brian. He is to the point and does not beat around the bush. He also has a H-D. The others I feel offer nothing I haven’t head form any driving range pro. Sticks in the Mud! I think it should be the Brian and Tom show. Nothing personal just how I see it. The look and personalities of Brian and Tom would be a hit with the weekend golfers as well and they pay the bills.

Having watched both shows, I really disagree with that comment - there has been good substance from all the Manzella academy people. Just to give you one for instance - Finney talking about his ball flight versus people with less lean was eye-opening. It made me think "if that guy, who I could never beat in golf, thinks that then I am on the WRONG path trying to manage huge lean to get more zip." Hammer, you are really off here.

It is just my take on it. That’s all for want it is worth.

This thread is for are comments and I am outside the box on this maybe to you but I believe from what I know working many years in the entertainment world and teaching over 10,000 weekend golfers, This formula could be big.

As far as the shaft lean Mr. Finney was just commenting on what Brian already had said.

I will say it again. The Brian & Tom Golf Show will be a hit!!! Leave the others out or have them as guests. You will go to the top!!! Hundreds or Thousands of seats will be sold if you brand the Brian &Tom Golf Show. I guarantee it.

Brian make the move and don't worry about egos hurt. They will understand if they really want you to be big time.

Time and Talent.

Mike Finney is the best straight man for me that there ever was. One of these days he'll get me riled up, or we'll disagree on something and make "Pardon the Interruption" look like Romper Room.

Mike Jacobs is the most insightful guy in the room, and as time goes on you'll start "getting" MJ.

Damon Lucas has the most different background, not coming from the Ben tree, and is a great interviewer. Not counting his golf knowledge.

Tom Bartllett is well, Tom. He is the smartest guy, with the most wacky sense of humor, and gets ME more than almost anyone. He is the best player in the group, and he might play 5 rounds a year. Tom & Brian would be great, but I'll go with this Dream Team, and get a better sound setup.

Bmanz ;)

I also feel that there are too many instructors present. Last night, there were at one time 5 instructors present. I have no issue with any of them - they all bring good information to the table, but it takes away from the individual feel that I believe the show is trying to achieve. How about rotating the instructors based on a topic that they are well versed in or that they are using in their teaching and having success.

Also, The show should have certain topics that are voted upon by the forum and those topics should be addressed for the first hour. Questions from the audience for that topic should only be addressed. Second hour should be "open mic" for questions from the audience. I know that is the intention, but it didn't seem to have that flow last night.

That being said, I thought the information was insightful and informative and will be back next week. Just my 2 cents.

Hey Tom & Brian Golf Show sounds better than Brian & Tom Golf Show when you say it that way.

Tom is the player and Brian is the instructor. Home Run!!

Well you said it brain but I have to disagree with your idea of the dream team except for You and Tom Bartlett. They are far from it.

Saying that I will not comment on this anymore. I have upset many I am sure but that was not my intention. It is your show and I will support it what ever you do.

I think I made my point.

It's just his honest opinion, everyone can have whatever opinion they want...we may not agree with it and may even upset us but that doesn't make it inappropriate imo.

I know it's his opinion, but I am just wondering what his intentions/expectations here on this forum are. It seems he has a chip on his shoulder about something all the time. I am not the only one who has noticed.

Brian great show, the only thing I don't like is the chat. Like when in the middle of the show Hammer states "Go Gators" because Finney is wearing a LSU shirt. To me it's like WTF, are we listening or tryng to get attention? Hammer has his opinions and I have mine. I say besides questions, no chat.

chat

I've worked with web-meetings a lot and with the chat functionality you have the ability to send a message to ALL (the default) or (if you click on the individual name) only to one person. Someone suggested all questions going to one person/moderator (e.g., Mike) and then Mike throws the topics/questions to Brian. I really like that idea. People would highlight Mike's name and send their questions only to him. This approach would free Brian up to just do his thing and result in a better overall flow.
