It's when a baseball is thrown with no spin on it, which results in the ball wobbling around in the air. So they are saying that applies to a straight golf shot, which makes no sense.

A straight shot appears to be a very slight fade because of the perspective of the golfer being inside the line of flight. I know this because I hit used to hit draws and now hit a lot of straight shots that I think are slight fades but other people seeing them swear the shot was straight.

That quiz is very local.

I always thought an absolute straight ball appeared as a slight pull, because of the way we view the target line. You look DOWN a push but ACROSS a straight ball.

For clarity I should say that when I say a slight fade I mean a slight left to right shot, a pull fade, not a straight to right shot. So it starts with the look of a slight pull but appears to fade back to the target. It couldn't just be a pull because a straight shot doesn't end up left of the target. Plus in my own experience, I have hit many shots with people standing directly behind the ball that swear it went dead straight but I would always say it was a 5 yard fade.

Aaron, it's good to hit a knuckleball into the wind because it has no spin and won't balloon up short with backspin. That is probably what Johnny Miller was talking about with Faldo, he used to swing at almost half speed to reduce spin into the wind. But if your not into the wind you don't want to hit a knuckleball because it won't hold any greens. Off the tee low spin is good for distance though.
