Mechanically Flawless Golf Swing

Looks good (like Payne) but I like players that look compact, like they are not even moving: Baddeley, Price, Purtzer, Elkington

Yes; I have always liked Mr. 59's swing. Harvey Penick said the best swing ever belonged to Micky Wright. My choice: Steve Elkington.

He has a perfect plane, tons of lag, great impact, his head doesn't move but about .5 an inch through his entire swing, he has beautiful tempo and balance.

Best action I ever saw in person? Easy...Jim Ferree. Played the tour in the 50's and 60's, played with him a few times in tournaments in the Tri-State Section in the 70's. Jim is retired now, lives in Hilton Head, SC. Best ball striker I ever saw- horrible putter, until the long putters came out- he won over a million $$ on the senior tour before retiring. I would love to have some film of him hitting balls- unfortunately, I only have the memory in my coconut. Closest to Jim, IMHO, would have been Tom Tomasello. Ol' Tom is up there on the big course now, playing every day w/Snead and Hogan. I DO have Tom on film- real good action, but not quite what Jim has.
I'd be happy w/either one of them!

Except Trevino would talk so much that Hogan would probably tell him to shut up by the nineth hole.

Ninth hole? How about by the time they got their spikes laced up? :D

If you haven't seen it, Jim McLean's show on Mickey Wright is one of the better 30 minute shows on the swing you'll see. Jim did a solid job on that one. The one on Miller was solid as well.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Miller yet.... hard to argue with the results of that swing. Not something I'd want to do to my back though!

Same with Knudson.... right up there with Wright and Hogan in terms of a pure swing.

Tiger, Jack, Watson, Snead.... these are the boys with the swings that have proven against pressure time and time again....
