C'mon guys, if you didn't know that already, you need to have a quiet word with yourself in private.
Surely everybody knows that.
That strikes me as more of a preference for those kinda shots though. If it produces the correct/consistent result, is there a bad way to pitch? I like the cuppy lofty pitch myself, but I sure wouldn't look sideways at any technique PM chooses to use.
In fairness, after Rory hit a great pitch from beside one of the greens, Johnny mentioned that he didn't like the way Rory's left wrist began to cup immediately after impact. Said it increased the loft of the shot and that he should try to emulate Mickelson's flat left wrist post impact.
Oh well. Like Billy Bob Thornton said, "They can't all be winners, kid."
Nope, I'm with you. Just making a general comment about which style is thought of as best. I took this Zapruder style video at the PGA. To my eye, PM (and I'm sure RM) can and does have all the shots with all the styles from all the lies. Genius is as genius does. Not to disagree with you, MG, but here is what I wrote.

I'm fairly certain, once the ball is gone, the left wrist isn't going to add or subtract loft on the club. Phil has maybe the best short game in the history of the game, but I don't see very many guys on Tour using his technique. Most players with chipping yips have a beautifully flat left wrist post impact.
