More angle/Lag needed

Had a lesson this weekend with video and it was obvious in my swing that I do not creat ANY angle going back or coming down. At the top of my backswing the angle was measured at 120* and half way down in my downswing the lag angle was only 141*. As I have stated here before, I have a lot of movement forward in my swing but I understand now that this forward move is my way of creating leverage since I have no lag. I know everyone says/thinks this, but I really do not hit the ball a far enough for my swing/talent. No compression, slappy type hits. I now know this is due to lack of lag.
So, any thoughts on how to get more angle in my swing going back and keeping/increasing it in downswing?
Does lagging club takeaway help this problem?
If I can figure out a way to post my swing I will, but right now it is on my instructors website.
Thanks

The reason I ask...

There is no substitute for experience in teaching golf.

None.

Experience is what allows a teacher who knows something that will help some golfer, to develop Alternative Procedures to allow them to help more golfers.

You see it all the time, a teacher has success with one student and a couple of others they are working with at the same time go backward.

Used to happen to me all the time.

One of the 100,000 things I learned to do—and sometimes more importantly NOT TO DO—was to allow students to have different Release Points.

My current "star pupil" on the female side, has a wonderful sweep release.

I can—and I have—gotten her a later Release Point, but at what cost? She lost Plane Line control & Clubface control, and even—believe it or not—Low Point Control.

That's three out of three folks, and well, I just ain't that ignorant anymore.

The Low Point control is VERY important in tournament golf. Ben Hogan said that controlling trajectory was his #1 agenda. Without Low Point control you have no idea where the ball will go distance wise. Ask Tiger about his second shot on #17 at the Masters.

So, my girl has a Sweep Release. And—if I may say so—one of the best sweep releases I have ever seen.

What would she gain from more Accumulator Lag? More distance?

Go read my post on "Birdie Man's" Clubhead vs. Clubface/Path thread. The story of the three golfers...one of them had a Random Release. Two of them Snap Releases with Maximum Trigger Delay. The guy with the Random Release is 25 million ahead of the others in winnings.

So...what have I learned in 25 years?

ANSWER: A bunch.

The Lagging Clubhead Takeaway is a great drill for curing "Slappy Hits."

But, seems to me, your PIVOT is not quite right, and your CLUBFACE DOESN'T allow for straight shots without a Flip.

Might be a chicken/egg thing.
Pivot isn't correct as I do not have any lag so body moves forward to create any power I can. Then again, if I pivoted correctly, maybe the lag would happen and the forward movement would go away.
Trying to post some video. I have it in realplayer but not sure how to get it up to a hosting site. Working on it now

Help still needed

Update and help still needed. Have worked on my backswing and gotten in a better position as seen on some video this past weekend. Club at top has more angle but it really looks like I am still throwing it away on the downswing.
Played last night and hit driver just ok, pulls that were playable, but irons were weak, thin and right which I think provides more evidence of throw away.
Any adivice on how to keep the lag? It feels like i am coming OTT or up and out of my spine angle and losing the lag, but not positive.
I know you have talked about sweep release in the past and in Clampett's book he talks about a straight line of hands to ball. WOuld either of these be better?

Bobby Clampett states in his book that the best way to maximise wrist lag is to maximise the speed of hip movement during the downswing hip squaring action that occurs immediately prior to the left hip clearing action - in synergistic combination with very relaxed wrists.

More Trigger Delay

The "Coke Machine" Drill in "Confessions of a Former Flipper" is probably the easiest way to feel a straighter line delivery path of the hands.

The real question is WHY do you flip?

Neede to see the video.

Couldn't a faulty Pivot be a major cause for flipping? If the right hip does not get out of the way, it is difficult for me to get the right arm in Pitch Basic. Brian's drill in the "Flipper" video showed me how to whollup it with the Pivot. This allowed my right arm to be bent a lot deeper into the downswing which added lag and eliminated the flip. Thanks Brian!
