More on axis tilt..when does it begin?

Still working on axis tilt and pushes. Shot a terrible round Sat. I gotta get the amp'd-ness out of my system before a round. I had such a great week on the range to get such poor results on the course. Anyways, that's a different thread.

I hit many decent shots Sat. But one in paticular...I hit a 5 iron as high as a 9 but 180ish. It was be-u-ti-ful, landed on the green 12 ft from the flag. Normally hit the 5 iron (when I hit it well) in the same range length wise but much lower.

The feelings that produced this shot was differnt than most. It really felt like the axis tilt was later in the swing than normal.

Where in the swing does the axis tilt begin to occur? Is it a quick thing...like a snap at the last moment or does it build from the top down? Reson asking....most pics I look at show the "sit down" with the body squaring but very little axis tilt at this point. I think maybe I have been employing it too soon.!?!?!?!?!?!

That reminds me...

I have a related question....Brian, do you approve of axis tilt pre-set at address? And if so, would the amount of address axis tilt increase as the club gets longer? Most with driver least with the wedge...

Bump and Slide

From earlier posts, "working on axis tilt" and "it does not have to HAPPEN!"

Should we work on it or does it happen?

The axis tilts but do we tilt the axis? Why is there no axis tilt component!

Is axis tilt taught or is it a result of what is taught?

These ARE great questions!

Wouldn't Axis Tilt depend on how and from where force is applied? And to what depth it is sustained?
