who do you think this is, and why do you think they've improved?
I'm not looking for a statistical analysis, just your thoughts.... improved can mean different things
for extra credit, who's gone backwards the most?

Off the top of my head, in terms of most improved I can think of a few:

1) Stricker
2) O'hair
3) Toms

For Stricker and O'hair, the big thing was they have confidence in there overall games and play in alot of big situations and had some pretty good success. Basically, they know they can perform well in the big moments now

For Toms, he returned to Cleveland, got healthy (I think he had some injury issues) and maybe got some great instruction (just guessing with this last one).

In terms of who has fallen the most, I would suggest Anthony Kim. Sure he had some success at the President's cup, but I didn't think he was near the player he was this year compared to 2008. I think injuries contributed to his downfall

I was pretty impressed with Y.E. Yang. Aside from his gritty PGA victory, I like his swing and appreciate his views on professional golf. He has a good mindset and I expect him to do well in the future. And he just seems like a really nice, unpretentious guy.

I was surprised by Padraig Harrington's performance throughout the year. I'm not really sure why he felt he needed to mess with his swing, and I hope next season goes better for him. He has some very un-Padraig moments this year. Anyone remember the triple-bogey down the stretch against Tiger at Firestone, or that brutal snowman on the eigth at Hazeltine? Painful. Luckily he's a phenomenal putter and wedge player. I expect him to be in the mix next year.

I would just see who ended up higher on the money list; regardless of what constitutes what you need makes them better if they won more money that means they played better and ended up higher on the leader board resulting in more cash.

Compare 2008 vs 2009 and also take into account the # of events.

V.J. went from $6.6 million in 2008 to $1.3 million in 2009 (hope he still could pay rent :D )

Yang went from $461,000 in 2008 to $3.5 million in 2009 (welcome to the penthouse suite, Mr. Yang is it? )

DT made a huge move too, $800,000 in 2008 to $3 million in 2009

a guy who's club is across the line, swings a bit vertical on the downswing, would blow up most guys models and formulas, hits it better than anyone in the majors
Ross Fisher gets my vote, wonder if he'll try to "fix" his swing?
also in consideration- Yang, Stricker continues to get better

Dont see too much of what you are referring to here.

I like his motion, and it obviously works
I do think that a lot of being what is preached today gets blown up by this motion
1. do his hands go in on the backswing?
2. where is the shaft pointing?
3. how about his clubface?
4. and how about blowing up the "early extension" fundamental of the TPI gang at impact?

scandres,

If someone comes out with a better way to swing a golf club, I will buy into it. I've seen Ross up close and personal on many occasions and he hits it long and straight - and I mean long. He is a player.

1. No. At least, not until they should.
2. At the right place throughout.
3. Matches the flat aspect of the back of his left hand.
4. How about that!

PS: Do you also see the McIlroy (esque) right hip movement?

Can you or Burner explain number 4 in detail? What is wrong with the early extention fundamental? I am attending a seminar in January and would like your input. Thanks.

Right, yeah I am familiar with what it is; they claim based on scientific research the early extension movement shows a strong correlation with bps...It sounds like you guys don't agree, and I'd like your input as to why.

Not arguing with the TPI version of early extention - only its reference in relation to Ross Fisher and his swing.

I think, Scandres failed to find evidence of it in Ross's swing and so do I.
