I did this last year after a couple rounds and predicted that if Michael Campell held up under the pressure that he would win and i was right.

I also made a pretty good prediction about this year's masters too.

(look up either post)

-----

So here i am this year and sorry i didn't make this post earlier but you can verify anything i'm about to type with anyone in the finance group at my work.

Here is (was) my pic to win the open:

Jim Furyk

Rookie who'd make the best showing:

Geoff Ogilvy

Dark Horse Favorite:

Padraig Harrington

------

Now i picked Furyk but i really think i should have gone with Geoff, he really has a ton of game and i love his motion. One of the best swings on tour imo and i wish i had some access to some REAL footage of it.

You heard it here folks....Furyk on Sunday or i'm wrong it should be Geoff.

Let's see how it plays out :)

Couple good pick's, Jim. I would have to say, look for loose fitted Phil Mickleson to post the winning score on Sunday. :)

Hate to do it, but

Told ya so!

Whoo Geoff! Now MAYBE we'll see his swing sequence some where because i'd really like to study it.

Edit:

Wow, didn't even notice:

Geoff (1)
Jim (T2)
Padraig (5)

Not too shabby of picks, me thinks i won the pool MUHAHAHAHA.

mrodock...i bet if there was money on the line they would have been waaaaaaaaaay off. However i really don't think anyone gives Geoff enough credit he has TONS of game and a rock solid swing. He barely has any body movement and hits it a mile which is one reason i want to see the stills. However the only knock i have against him is that on occassion he gets that left wrist rather bent at the top of the swing and when he does he leaves it right like he did on 17 which did have the bent wrist.

HAHA Jim, I've rooted for players just to get the swing sequence. If I want to get into golf gambling I'll send you a message.

was at the dentist this morning and what did I find but an old golf mag (04) with Ogilvy on the cover. There was a couple pages of Q&A and a pro tips section. The tips were headlined Plane and Pivot.. interesting.

Turns out Elkington gave him a little lesson on plane. The Plane drill was to lay two clubs down either side of the ball on an extended target line and Geoff wants his shaft to point at the clubs at all times other than when it's parrallel. Cool.
