My trip to Louisville

I went to Louisville this week to spend six hours working with Brian. Just got back last night...

I was a little hesitant about taking this trip. It's a 500 mile drive from my home in NC and I've spent a lot of money on golf lessons in the past that yielded only marginal results. Would I be wasting my time here? I decided to throw caution to the wind and give it a go.

First of all, Brian is a heck of a nice guy. Very enthusiastic and a lot of fun to work with. He is quite the storyteller and seems like he's got a million of them. I'm sure he's a hit at parties and the 19th hole!!

Second thing, the man is dripping with knowledge of the golf swing. I wish I'd had some better questions prepared for him. I should have taken the opportunity to clear some more things up in my head.

The early thoughts? Even though there's a lot of work to do, I'd have to say this trip was the best thing I've done for my golf game - probably ever. I like the direction Brian pointed me in. We're trying to fix path and face angle...pretty basic stuff, but the way he presented it to me made a lot of sense.

I'm sure he saw several other things (...or many) that need attention but first things first. My backswing needs work too but that's another story. He touched on that briefly too.

If you need some help, do yourself a favor and go see Brian. I'll be going back...

Thanks Brian!

Great student.

The lessons were interesting in this respect (as far as this forum goes):

NOT a single REFERENCE TO THE HEAD.

Which is the way I teach 98% of the time.
