Because Kevin

Not that it is the same relationship, but the parent watching a child is always more nervous.

Part of you is playing through Nathan, enjoy the ride

Your being nervous is related to wanting so much success for your friend and student.

4 up thru 15 would be nice to have a Pgh guy win it especially when he played at Division III Allegheny College not ALL the good golfers come from D I schools!

I see that the pressure of repeating his victory is getting to him. He is only 7 under through 24 holes!

Congratulations!!! I used to work at Atlantic and came back to help out for the Mid Am. I was there for the practice and qualifying rounds and the wind was howling and the greens were firm. The USGA was out there with there firmness meter all the time making sure they were firm enough. I have played there probably over 10,000 times in my tenure there and some of the bounces I saw shots taking on the green with solid shots amazed me. Kevin I would be interested to hear what he said about the conditions before the rain came in and softened them up?

Congratulations, Nathan & Kevin!!!

One thing we don;t do a lot around here is bang on the drums every time we have a student do well.

But this time it is different...

This is a National Championship.

Great Job guys!

If I knew how:eek:

7&5 victory with no bogies. Im impressed.

Kevin, Call me. I'll help you... but, you have to help me get to low double-digit. Of course, you may have to go to brain-surgeon school 1st! :) You and I need to continue to work hard on the short game.

Seriously.. call me. I can help you post videos.

I am not Kevin but I will answer. I posted this in the other Nathan Smith thread that we had going yesterday. I played both qualifying rounds with a former Mid AM Champ who has played in the Walker Cup and numerous US Opens and Senior Opens and he told me after the round that the combination of the course conditions and the wind were the toughest that he has ever played this type of event under.

I will say that The Bridge played a lot tougher than Atlantic - but both courses were in excellent shape and are fine layouts.

I know Nathan played extremely well today but I bet that if you ask him he will say that to shoot even par in the qualifying rounds under the conditions that were present (especially his draw) over the weekend was just as good of playing - if not better.
