Natural Golf and/or Single Axis Golf. Is there any science behind?

Moe Norman swing inspired Natural Golf and, after a bitter schism, Single Axis Golf, registered by Jack Kuykendall.

It's science based, or claims to be. It was even patented as you can see here. US Patent 5,803,827 claims a "Golf clubhead and its method of use", but it's mainly about the method, since the golf clubhead description is rather generic.

Do you think there's real science behind J. Kuykendall's Single Axis Golf or Todd Graves' Natural Golf?

Ha you are the ball off Cast Away. Nice.

Don't know a lot about either.

But Moe did not "swing on one plane" that's for sure.

He returned roughly to his address shaft plane at impact but...another example of the term "one plane swing" being used questionably.

Perfect example's of riding on the back of a great ballstriker claiming they know what Moe did and they can teach you to be like Moe. If Moe is one plane then Ben Hogan overswung and reversed pivoted. J.K. is in the abyss never to be seen again.

There is more snake oil in golf instruction than just about anything other than baptist preachers.

Science and golf are great...but only if you can translate it into a feel that works.

Guys like Jones and de la Torre are popular in some circles because they claim no science other than centrifugal force, just feels and movements.

To me the golf swing is like a complicated dance...that is performed in a variety of locations, terrains and weather. Mostly, its just hard...hard to replicate the same feels from one day to the next.

I still firmly believe the only way to truly grasp a golf swing is to start young....start after 18 and you're always going to fight it...no matter what you do. If someone could ever solve that riddle (how to teach an adult over 18 to have an intuitive golf swing) they would OWN golf.

GL, Just got back on my high horse laughing at Deadly's statement and you come up with that, i can't stop laughing.

The only way you could teach adults over 18 to grasp the swing is to beat them, just enough, not to cripple or anything that harsh, but to make a lasting impression in their minds. Worked for my kids... lol

Single axis doesn't mean single plane, it means at address the clubshaft and the right forearm are in a striaght line, this gives a single axis as the forearm and shaft are in a line, a normal set up where the right forearm is at an angle to the shaft is double axis. The inventor Jack Kuykendall uses science on his website to prove it is impossible to swing on a single plane.

That makes sense.

There are people who say Moe swung on one plane though.

Good to hear someone (Kuykendall) is apparently trying to debunk that.

I wrote the same thing in Moe's Wikipedia.

I wonder if Kukendall would be interested in attending the anti-summit? I think that his LPG pattern is an interesting way to play golf. I use to have a membership to his site, and he likes to debunk incorrect science. I believe that he's a physicist.

Jack is a physicist??Are you serious?

There is a big difference between a physicist and a high school physics teacher.

He claims his E-2-E swing does not require any forearm rotation and wrist action.Sounds like junk science to me.If that is the kind of swing science produces then i'm out.I'd rather go back reading GD.
