Need Help Teaching My Son

My son enjoys golf (8 yrs old.), and hits a decent (lee janzen) timed flip.

He's very right arm dominent and just wants to go after the ball hard with his right hand. His right just overpowers his left and he struggles with the idea of rolling the left arm.

Any suggestions on how to get him to maintain a bent right wrist, without confusing him and getting too technical.

Thanks

Try and get him to focus hitting it with his right upper arm, rather than his right hand...once you say "hand" to a kid, that's what you'll get...:)

If that doesn't work, show him the karate chop action (with the right wrist fully cupped back, i.e. palm faces the sky)..
If he starts pushing it right, then add a quicker (fuller) turn before impact...bingo, straight shots..:)
Don't worry about the rolling left arm, if you get the right arm working that takes care of itself..

does he play baseball? you cant really flip it when you are trying to hit a baseball so you might consider getting him in little league.

maybe show him how he can hit with his right arm/side by bending and straightening his right elbow without straightening his right wrist?
like the open palm punch brian describes in "flipper"
