Here are the rules:

Rank up to 10 teachers, you can only vote if you have taken a lesson or watched a live lesson from a Golf Digest top 50 or Golf Magazine Top 100 teacher.

I have been to every summit since 1996 and I can give you a long list of smoke and mirrors guys and girls that should not be top 10.

My top teachers to nominate would be in this order: Ben Doyle, Gregg McHatton, Brian Manzella, Bobby Schaeffer, Bill McKinney, Mike Hebron, Martin Hall, Chuck Cook(just scraped in).

I almost forgot Don Villavaso.
What do you thing Brian?

I have taken lessons from or seen all these guys teach.

I have been through my share of guys as well. I will not list ten but, I can tell you who I thinks belongs in the Top 50 and Top 100:

Brian Manzella (I have yet to take a lesson, but I will here soon, I can tell by the knowledge on his site he knows what he's doing)

Ted Fort(I'm currently working with Ted on my hitting machine. What a passionate teacher with a great understanding of golf including TGM).

David Orr(I spent a year with this guy, he's amazing, but he floats just under the radar on purpose, helping the future golf minds of instruction. A day with David can wear you out, he will teach and teach until you got it.)

Mike Hebron(His book Golf Swing, Secrets, and Lies is a great resource for me. I can't wait to meet him to.)

Lynn Blake(The leader of east coast TGM! Enough said)

Ben Doyle(The leader of west coast TGM! Enough said)

and finally,

Mac O'grady(Maybe the most misunderstood of all teacher's, but from what I've hear he has more information collected than any other teacher. Also he's the only person that I know of that can do at least three models both right and left.)

These guys are Good! Go take a lesson from them or do some research you'll see!

My vote probrably shouldn't count, because I have not taking lessons from all or seen them live.

But I can vote for two definetly

David Orr and Ted Fort

Just my two cents.

the big three:

1-Blake
2-Manzella
3-Doyle

and future hall of famers::

4-David Orr
5-Ted Fort
6-EDDIE COX - lets not forget Edge

I have seen:

7-Mac O’Grady
8-Martin Hall
9-Chuck Cook

non-TGM I have had lessons from:
10-David Glenz
11-Wayne DeFrancesco

HM- Ron Gring (never saw) , Rob Noel (never saw)

The guys at Accelerized golf in Atlanta are hands down the best teachers in the country. I have been to a few of the top teachers and these guys are the best. They understand the golf swing and what the student needs to do in order to improve. Their teaching method combimed with their patented ball drop technology is the best and fastest way to improve.

Six,

Including me here is flattering, but exaggerated at a minumum. At this juncture, I do not even view myself as a teacher, wheareas these other guys do it diligently and passionately everyday. One day...who knows?

6,

I'll second . . .
EC/Edge/Eddie Cox is more than deserving. He has helped me improve my game more than any teacher, book, or video. He owns "the book." Can communicate and demonstrate the concepts and critical geometry in away that is easily understood. I trust him with my game more than any teacher period. He is one fantastic machinist and an even better guy! I am proud to have him as friend.

Many many many thanks E!

Run/Bucket/Richard

Eddie- you are on the list. It didn't take long to see that you truely care about the student and G.O.L.F. Anyone close (and I wish I was) should stop by for a lesson or three.

btw: maybe I am lucky and have been with just the right people but....have you noticed that G.O.L.F.ers really care about what they do and who they do it to. Homer gave many gifts to us.

I have personally worked with these instructors over the last five years and feel they are some of the best.

Mike Bender-

Wayne DeFrancesco-

I have not worked with Brian.

Brian Manzella- I have picked up some good info on this forum and in his videos.

Is that where George Kelnhoffer (spelling?) teaches?

They use "hot lines" to keep you in certain positions. If you don't hit any of the hot lines, the ball won't disappear and you'll get a chance to hit the ball and you will be judged to have a correct swing. This looks like "positional" golf and seems to completely ignore the PHYSICS of the golf swing. What muscle groups are being used and how are they being used to move the golf club, can't be determined by boundries. It seems like this system can be fooled.

I've been in an "instruction vaccuum" of sorts (i got lucky):
1. Manzella
2. Doyle
3. Finney
*I've seen a taped lesson of Leadbetter and it was complete junk.
--What's the Manzella Top 10 ?

teachers I know that are better than almost all top 100 teachers I've worked with-
Bill Porter Jr., Mike Calbot, Johnny Myers, Del Starks, Brian Manzella
still waiting for your list Brian!

bantamben1,

What put Mac ahead of Ben, can you give those of us who have not yet had the priviledge of meeting him an insight into what it was like. What did he say about the "yellow book", M.O.R.A.D., Etc.??

He isn't a teacher though....

But we do know he's the #1 golf knowledge-guy (golf researcher??) ever.
Homer gave many lessons. He worked with Johnny Miller.Paul Runyan, Mac O'Grady,Bobby Clampett, Lynn Blake and others.
