... just a quick hello to everyone on the forum. i’m new to the site, new to golf (just started playing 11 months ago) and i love this game. i seldom keep score, usually keep track of putts and hope to become a better ball-striker. i joined this forum after watching a number of brian’s youtube videos. which i enjoyed a lot. my ego would have me thinking that i might be able to contribute to the conversation, but realistically i think i’ll probably just be a spectator, hoping to learn some from more seasoned players like yourselves. i live in southern california and often play pelican hill, strawberry farms and oakcreek. i'm thinking torrey pines and pebble beach are in my future.

You're at a great place to learn some great "fundamentals" about this great game. I contribute nothing of substance, but have a lot of fun with the fellas and learn more than I could ever repay the Academy staff.

Enjoy!:)

Welcome to the site...mgranato says he contributes nothing of substance; I, on the other hand, contribute twice as much!
This is THE best golf instruction site you'll ever come across: friendly, helpful people always willing to give a hand. Even the lairiness is top-notch - Enjoy.

these courses are real close for me, so what i spend on green fees -i save in not having to sit in traffic.

hi brian, love your videos. i think the redesign of youtube clearly shows google's interest to compete for tradition cable television reviewers. and i'm predicting this move is going to increase your following 100x within 36 months.

i basically taught myself a swing from youtube -watching old hogan videos and listening to wayne defrancisco break down swings. at the moment i'm toying around with some sean foley/the stack n tilt guys -weight left ideas, without the funky left shoulder dip to the ground thing. the question i have is in regards to that particular swing philosophy and it's about weight distribution at the top. how much weight ought to be on the right foot and which part of the foot should it be on? if you had any ideas about that i'd be interested to know your thoughts.
