Newbie User - looking for swing help

Hello everyone.

8 times out of 10, whenever I Google for a specific fix such as "what should the hips do in the backswing" or "drills to steepen your backswing" I invariably get taken to this site and often read the pages of knowledge.

I don't quite understand some of the terminology, but generally it seems to be a great resource for sharing knowledge. I don't follow any set pattern, but I feel comfortable controlling my pivot with my hands & arms, rather than with my torso. I know that's no the 'in thing', but it seems to be more accepted here? (I may be wrong on that)

I am struggling with my game right now, so though "what the heck" I may as well just throw my swing out there and see if anyone can help.

My issue is that I feel like I am making a glancing blow to the ball rather than hitting it solid. I am sure I am cutting accross it - but several lessons with several pros have so far failed to help.

If anyone has any thoughts what-so-ever I'd be happy to hear 'em!

Do you have a face on view?

I tend to agree with footwedge and would add that it looks like you are getting too far ahead of the ball with your upper body making your hands "stuck" and have to flip to catch up.

Hey mrpinkycats,
Cool name, just my 2 cents for whats its worth.Work on better Impact position. Suggest confessions of a former flipper. Great video.

You are trying to hit the ball from the top of the back swing. Don't do that.

Make your downswing motion as is, but feel like you leave your hands behind. Let your unwinding body bring your arms, hands through. Really a sequencing thing. Look us "Lag" and you will get the idea.
One of the harder things to do consistently, but you really have a good motion already.

Nice motion! You have the components of a very fine swing. What are your misses? I would venture to say you hit a lot of low hooks and high pushes

I would suggest Never slice again. You would really benefit from understanding how your hands and arms could work a little better. With your motion, having the right arm straighten more and earlier could help.

This action doesn't need much, your hands just need to be a touch more forward at impact and I believe you would see great improvement.
