I have been lurking on these boards for a few months and have gathered some great information. I have not read the TGM book yet (no time). But was wondering even though I have not read the book yet, will buying Brian's DVD help me or is there alot of terms in the DVD's that I should understand before buying the DVD.

Some information on me

I am a 15 handicap been playing on and off since I was a kid, when hitting good my driver has a nice draw to it, but my irons from 150 and in are pretty bad, either high and right or pulled to the left.

Thanks

You'll be fine without the book. Brian explains everything in layman's terms.

No TGM experience necessary, although the videos WILL help you understand the book much better if you ever get around to reading it. I have video shorts 1 - 6, and recommend them all, but I would put "Confessions of a Former Flipper" (Video short #5) at the head of the list if you wanted to start somewhere. I, and several others on this site, have found it to be a revelation...I have now also read TGM, but the video is of more immediate benefit than the book.

I showed the Flipper video to my Dad, a retired PGA pro with no TGM background at all, and he absolutely loved it and has been practicing the stuff in the video for the past 3 months. I showed him the TGM book, and he took one look at it and was left rather cross-eyed and confused and had NO interest in reading it...fair enough, he's 65 and really doesn't want to go down that road...but he loved Brian's videos and articles.

grs, I was in your exact position a couple of months ago and after buying the videos from Brian (shorts and Never Slice Again) and the book, Brian's videos have proven to be much more helpful in terms of practical application of things that will help you get better. Just MHO.

Cool, thanks, I am defintitely a flipper :(, I have known this for a while but have a hard time fixing it. I ordered video's 1-5 last night :D. I'm sure I will have a bunch of questions after I view the videos

Thanks again

Welcome! I am a newbie here too. Just stumbled into the site a few weeks ago. I lurked here and on the Lynn Blake forum and already I feel I have learned more than all the darn books and lessons I have had in the past 10 years (when I first picked up golf at the ripe age of 33).

Definately start with the "flipper" video. The info and drills in there are great and have really made a difference for me quickly.

Good luck. I look forward to muddling through this with another rookie.:D

Well I watched the flipper video last night, it really is fantastic, especially the part about float loading (that might take me a while to get right).
