This shot ailment can be a round killer. Show us how to kill it, Brian....

Hey Digger I agree. It is probably more of a somewhat accomplished low-mid handicap players regular miss, who has learnt fair to good clubface control but hasn't got the whole game down pat yet. And should be given the credit it deserves as a major miss during a round of golf. A case of the pulls during a round is every bit as frustrating as a case of the hooks.
I don't know about the title though "Never Pull Again";)

I tried this recipe yesterday on a par 3, must have done something wrong as I hit the mother of all blocks to the right.[V]

Perhaps a "Never Block Again" video as well? :D

Thank you for the audio response. The root cause is the real issue. Loss of axis tilt especially for those lacking flexibility, that's me.

Brian:
"The root cause is the real issue. Loss of axis tilt coming into the ball."

Is that where I get my pull shots from?

Thanks for the audio answer . It has cleared a lot up for me.

B,

Your audio answers are FANTASTIC!!! Please keep it up.

Are there any drills for people wanting to insure that they establish and maintain Axis Tilt?

Thanks again!

R

By all means, lets hear how to maintain the axis tilt, so one does not block shots, or pull shots.

This is something that I have to work on alot. When I focus on retaining my axis tilt (mostly by keeping my head down and back) then my common miss is a push right with the occasional push fade if I don't release well. On the flip side, my unmonitored motion is to straighten up sliding my head forward (above the hips) and losing this tilt which leads to the pull.

There is a happy middle ground that I'm always practicing towards and sometimes lock in on leading to periods of improved ball striking.

oh yep this is my challenge...it's just sooo easy to "straighten up" (no tilt) but my question is should we try to tilt w upper body or just allow it with using the hips??? cause when i "try" to tilt right i hit thin weak push shots..

Would cross-line hips be appropriate for NHA? Yesterday, I was pulling everything it seemed. Part of my problem is that when I focus on the carry, I frequently end up swinging out-to-in. I tried focusing on right-side bend. It helped with the pulls, but I started going too much inside-out and hitting it fat. I tried, what I thought to be, cross-line hips when I was "shaking the sugar." It seemed to work. Now I am trying to figure out if it worked because I was doing NHA correctly, or whether the hip action was simply a band-aid on an incorrect NHA pattern. Thanks for anyone's comment.

cross line hips = reverse hip slide in the backswing? Lil confused on this.

Jim defined it earlier, "When you make your little 'hip bump' slide them across your target line instead of parallel to them."

I take this to mean that your hips move out to the right of your target a bit on their first move. Sort of like an inside out hip bump.
