Help. I've lost 1.5 or 2 clubs distance!

This swing pattern has changed my game. Since implementing it in June, 6 of my last 9 differential scores have been single digits, including a .5 on a 73.4/130 course. So, I'm extremely happy with the accuracy and consistency I've gained. I've lost a lot of distance, though, and I didn't have much in the first place. For instance, I'm now playing for 165yd carry with my 5-iron. I've had to add another hybrid.

Everything I hit feels very solid, although flying very high. People I play with say the ball starts out on a great flight, and looks like it could go long, but then the shot just falls straight out of the air (short of the green). I haven't gotten to a launch monitor to see if my spin numbers are way up, but that is what it feels like. Same story with the driver. Falls out of the sky 20 yards short. I can say that shots are spinning much more into the green.

What could it be?

I don't conciously let the LAFW flatten at all in the backswing. Am I too upright and coming in too steep while generating too much spin?

Am I not rotating through? Am I throwing away all my energy shaking down instead of down and left? Too much down? Left wrist breakdown trying to go down too much?

What are some distance generating fixes in NHA?

Thank you everybody, and thank you for this pattern. It is inspiring.

Although I would think it's a swing/spin issue ( the better guys on the board can help more with that ), I wonder if when you made the changes to your swing, maybe some of the equpment, golf ball, etc, might have needed to change with it?

Just a stupid thought!

You might simply be delivering more loft into impact; most people who "need" NHA type swing have been delofting their irons a lot by swinging too inside/out and delivering too little loft. If you deliver more loft than you will hit it shorter all else equal.

What do you divots look like? My implementation of this pattern led to higher hands and a steeper impact position. I noticed alot of toe digging in my divots as well as impact on the toe side leading to distance loss. I got refitted recently (bent upright) and the center strikes are back now.

I don't believe this pattern is as long as say SD but the consistency is a good tradeoff.

The ballflight doesn't appear higher than the previous swing, including SDP. I've always hit it high, but now losing distance.

I don't leave divots, just bruise the grass. Always been that way. If anything my clubs are a bit too upright. Just changed them and haven't had them flattened, yet.

May be swinging more left but still "scooping it" i.e. flipping it with a face that doesn't roll over.
My take on the NHA pattern is that there is enough emphasis on the "down" so that there is always be a pretty good divot taken.
