NSA questions

Happy New Year folks. I'm up in New England, pounding frozen range balls into a snowy tundra. :D

I found a thread from '07 where someone mentioned using twistaway for the driver ONLY, which is where I'm at.

I'm using twistaway with a FLW at the top of backswing, and mashing my driver (by my standards). Same swing and I can't get a 7-iron more than 4 ft off the ground. No big deal though, as I'm also hitting my irons better than ever without twistaway, mainly due to re-watching the backswing section of NSA.

So what's the problem? Well I'm worried about having two very different swings. After hitting some irons, my first ball or two with the driver is usually a push-fade, until I adjust. Can I make this work on the course?

Just a thought. It is logical to assume that a modern Driver has more variation in head / shaft than a set of irons. Maybe have found that you need a compensating move to get your driver to square up. Might be time for a Driver Fitting, or maybe not.

The whole driver thing is a bit perplexing to me. I have low-ish swing speed, and therefore use GI irons with R-flex shafts.

When it comes to a driver, I have much better results with a stiff-shaft and low-loft. Really makes no sense to me, but I am hitting a Titleist 983E 9.5 S-flex driver and doing WAY better than I was with all the 10.5 R-flex 460cc drivers I tried. Gives me a lower, more controlled ballflight.

Probably tons of variables as I'm a 13 hcp with 3 years golfing experience. My swing can be pretty different day to day.

You are not hooking the driver? Nice draw or what?

If you hit down lots on your irons or desire to this can/will influence your path to the right.

It'll probably also take you out of your axis tilt.
