played tiger '09 the other day...it was pretty sweet. don't know what else is out there...seems like he (or should i say ea sports) has got it on lockdown.

nice in-laws...

Golfing on the Wii sucks. As a real golfer, I had no advantage over someone that used the controller like a bowling ball...

Agreed, As the sensor loses connection when you swing behind your body and obstruct it, you are better with really tiny wee swings keeping controller and sensor in line of sight.

Not very realistic, thats my excuse anyway :)

I don't know if you can on the wii but I used to play Tiger online on the 360 all the time. It's so much better when you play somebody else. It sounds stupid but you actually get nervous over a shot when playing other people. For a real adrenaline rush try Call of Duty online.
As far as the wii goes, after the novelty wears off there aren't many great games. My 5 and 7 year old boys don't hardly turn the wii on anymore. There are a few good one's though. Super mario galaxy was fun for even me along with metroid 3 and super mario cart. The real gem is wii fit. Even my wife loves that one. It basically measures your center of balance and uses that for games and activities. There's balance games like downhill skiing where when you lean to the left the skiier turns to the left and so on. There's all kinds of stuff to do on it and in my opinion a better party game than the sport pack.

my wii has been sitting there for months. Covered in dust.

Yeah, right now we go bowling the most. 3 and 6 year old love it. Golf is ok, want to get maybe Tiger Woods or something with some better graphics.

Wii is 480p graphics....PS3 and Xbox 360 do HD gaming so if you want a better graphical experience i would get one of those as well.

It's not even about that. It's more the fact that the wii is a complete generation behind. It's a gamecube with a fancy remote. Comparing graphics is laughable because of the lack of power.

what about the

What about the wii fit set up? Looks like you might be able to use it to work on the pivot, no?

I have a playstation 3 and and XBOX 360. Both are awesome, but the wii looks interesting also, the games are more family-party related.

Wii is fun...and useful?

The Wii golf games are just that, games. They aren't equivalents to simulator-games and things like that, but are fun for what they are, video games.

Also, the Wii Fit can be somewhat useful for improving balance, but the Body Test is also interesting. I had just finished getting a lesson from a buddy who told me that my posture was back on my heels too much. The next day I happened to take the Wii Fit Body Test, and my natural posture was way too back on my heels. Being able to monitor my posture's natural balance on the wii has made it easier for me to set up in my golf posture the way I want.

I don't know if there are too many useful real golf applications with the Wii right now, mostly because the Wii Fit board is too small for most golf swing address positions. If only it were bigger...you could gather all kinds of useful information.

Ya man I tried TW08 on Wii and to me they might as well not have the remote swinging at all if it does that kind of a job mimicking real golf. Erratic and unrealistic.

I thought it would probably be more fun for casual golfers or non-golfers.
