Ok, I need some help with my pattern......

I don't have video yet, but I think this has been asked before.......

I am hitting a lot of pulls and some pull hooks with my NHA, and I am losing my balance on many shots. Some of my shots feel a bit underplane but I am not hitting anyting on the heel, everything is waaaayyyy on the toe.

Is this related to a sequencing problem such as carry rotate drop instead of carry drop rotate?

How do you know if you are carrying too much/late?
How do you know if you are dropping too late in the DS?
Should the drop be complete before/during/after counterfall?

Thanks

To me, it sounds as if the hands are going more out than down, causing the shaft to back up. I deal with this as well. A lot of high-handle toe-y hits, although you seem to be slamming the face closed whereas I tend to leave it open.

This is what has worked for me: from the top, pull straight down with the right elbow, feeling the inside of your upper left arm slide down your chest. Then, let the right elbow fire while keeping some flex in the right wrist. I also try to get my right thumbpad over the shaft coming through, but you may not need that as you fight the ball going left. Through the ball I let the left arm fold and recede to the left.

I recommend some super slow motion swings combined with some mirror work. What I wrote above is too much to think about when actually trying to hit the ball. Good luck.

The only way to hit pulls is with a path that is outside in and a square clubface relative to the path. Pullhooks are caused when the clubface is closed relative to the path and target line. Sounds to me like your clubface is closed at impact... what is your grip like... is it strong, neutral?

It is hard to tell what exactly you are doing without video so I can only give you information as to what causes the shots you are hitting. As far as the toe hits are concerned you could be backing the shaft up, but you also say that you feel underplane. If you carry too much in the transition it could cause pulls, pull hooks, and toe hits from backing the shaft up, however, this would not be your problem if you are too much underplane. The carry move in NHA is supposed to combat underplaners by getting them to feel like they are coming over the top. Once again, video would be the only real way to give you advice on exactly what you are doing.
