One more quick swing video...

I'm only posting this because I have been spending 3-5 nights per week at the range and feel as if I'm getting closer, but still seeing obvious big faults that I cannot fix. My priority right now is understanding how to start the downswing, I've always been a hands first player and would like to gain some consistency. The big things I see in my swing are something "off" about the backswing, but I'm not skilled enough to know what that is. Seems as if the hands keep moving after the shoulders stop, but if I take a larger shoulder turn I wind up basically with a reverse pivot. I also see a re-route of the clubhead before heading back down. Any ideas on what to think of to help? Thanks again!

All I can offer is observation. At transition you are standing the shaft straight up instead keeping it in line with you left arm or laying it off flatter. Look at your left arm at address versus left arm coming into impact at around 0:02 . Big difference, with arm and hands out toward the ball. Appears to my amateur eye that you are not getting your hips bumped forward and out of the way. That is you are not creating the slot to swing your hands through.

Thanks! The miss is an enormous duck hook that has nearly killed a few people on opposing holes. I need to get rid of it not only for my sanity but for the safety of all public golfers nearbye

Yeah, like I said it looks like your path is just too much out to the right which may lead to some roll. I'd like to see you learn how to release everything without any roll then start swinging more left

The main thing I feel when I try to swing left is that I'm all cramped up and have no room to release. I usually hit it really fat when I do that. Sounds like what you say could help in that regard though so I will work on it - as always, I really appreciate the advice!

I see steep transition backed up a little, in to out, flipped a bit. If the transition flattened a little you could turn through and swing left more. But not with that steepness. I'd like to see it face on.

You can swing more left just by adjusting your setup more to the left. From there, roll less. You may need to open the face a little more at address to neutralize the setting up to the left.

If it feels all cramped up, it's probably because you are setting up to the right with your stance and then attempting to swing everything to the left.
