One shot in the bag, please help!

After two years of balance work, I have developed one go-to shot: a punch fade. I make the same divot 9/10 times and hit my 5 iron 175 with a 5-7.5 yard cut.

The following feelings give me great confidence:

- driving the emblem of my glove down into the turf

- "hitting" the ball with my right hand

- playing the ball back in my stance

- setting up slightly open to the target line

- taking the club away slightly outside and fairly steep

What is the best way for me to start producing a tight draw keeping most of these feelings in mind? I do not like "turning over" the club face.

Setup more closed/right
Hands more in on the takeaway
More right arm across the chest on the way through

Please don't reply useless posts. I'm running out but will reply later with how to get the punch draw. You won't have to "turn the face over." Just setup different.

After two years of balance work, I have developed one go-to shot: a punch fade. I make the same divot 9/10 times and hit my 5 iron 175 with a 5-7.5 yard cut.

The following feelings give me great confidence:

1) driving the emblem of my glove down into the turf

2) "hitting" the ball with my right hand

3) playing the ball back in my stance

4) setting up slightly open to the target line

5) taking the club away slightly outside and fairly steep

What is the best way for me to start producing a tight draw keeping most of these feelings in mind? I do not like "turning over" the club face.

1) This is fine
2) This is fine
3) This is fine
4) Setup slightly closed to the target line and aim well right of your intended target
5) Take the club away rather normal and don't try to be steep, normalish swing is fine

You can also cheat a little bit by closing the face just a tad and then grip it, but not too much. Essentially what you are trying to do is the opposite of your punch cut with some slight modifications. Also, with most "punch-fades" you begin to feel this "low and left" type of finish through hte ball. With the punch draw you want it to be more "up and towards the target." Think of how Jack N would hit a punch shot and how his hands/arms would finish, more in front of him. This will faciliate the draw.

Incorporated your suggestions (Except I'm more comfortable setting up nice and square to my starting line) and now I'm punching the tightest little draw you ever saw. It's amazing what minor adjustments can accomplish.

Thanks a bundle Jim!
