I have problem with pull draw recently. In order for me to hit the ball straight my club face has to look like / (a little bit less than /) at setup.
Should I bend the club 2 degrees open or just set it up open like that?
thanks
Me too. I set it open and still hit hooks. Its easier and cheaper just to lay it open at address though. Probably best not to alter the club to accomodate a swing issue.
I think I'm probably swinging too far to the right. I can't afford to get on a monitor right now, so I'm left with trial and error. Does anyone think that laying your club face open will tend to make you subconciously swing further right making the problem worse? Sorry if I'm jacking your thread Jenhaoyen, I just figured since I had similar problems I'd throw that out there.
I'm not swinging to the right at all, I'm swinging very left if anything. It's an clubface issue for me.
Also my ball flight is a lot higher and further, probably due to slightly open club face at impact.
I'm just scared to change my club to -2 degree open and it end up not working lol
driver or irons?
How do you hit a pull draw if you are swinging left with an open club face at impact?
weaken your right hand grip a bit, leave the left alone see if that helps.
I have done some research on this recently and talked to a few people who know these sorts of things. Bending irons open is a bit of a touchy subject, due to how thin the sole of an iron is compared to a wood. Also, we play this game on grass and typically uneven surfaces, so that makes it doubley tough to bend an iron open and have it sit consistently the same way on the ground.
What I have found is that it is easier for me to aim the clubface correctly with an iron/wedge that has less offset, and even some onset. Take a look at the Wilson FG Tours or the Scratch ZO's (zero offset) and see if you think that would help you.
JMHO, of course...

My clubface is probably really square at impact. therefore I open it up on my setup to counter it.....i think you misunderstood

Hmmmmmmmmmmm?
That's what I misunderstood: and, it seems, what you incorrectly described!
