Out toss - free throw analogy

Can we have a chat about the free throw analogy in the ideas video...between 19.00 and 19.30 to be specific.

BM demonstrates the free throw and his hand is facing the camera...Note how his thumb goes from 'at the target' to 'perpendicular to the target' quite (at which time his palm is towards the camera)...If I try that the clubface gets completely closed, very early

What am i misinterpreting?

Here's my alternate analogy...

For the sake of the analogy, lets assume there is a dart board 5m behind me in what I call the Trackman position. If was to throw a dart (i.e. the club) at Trackman, my right hand would not rotate and my right thumb would remain pointed at the target. My palm would never face Trackman.

Great question.

The torque from the body will counteract what you obviously can overdo.

It is just a "idea" and if you have a wide open clubface (and plenty of folks do) it is a good idea.

Sounds like you don't need it.

I don't.
