Through a lot of trial and error I've determined that a steeper shoulder turn going back allows me to play my best golf. I have no idea why, but it does. Any thoughts as to why? and which video/pattern do you recommend purchasing that incorporates a steeper shoulder turn going back to the top? Thanks so much. JRJ

How flat was your shoulder turn before?

Formerly known as "Soft Fade"

The Pattern is now called "Baby Fade."

Fairly strong grip.

Lower hands.

Rotated Shoulder Turn

Flatter Arm Swing

and much more of course.

Video soon.

Besides being more successful with a steeper shoulder turn, what golfer characteristics lead them to being better suited to the "baby fade" pattern (without giving away too much of the upcoming vid, of course)?

Is it just me or are the tour pros so concerned with the don't hit it left that they are starting to hit out and out carved slices? Tiger hit a number if them against Clark and Phil hit his share today. I wonder if they are protecting more than controlling and when it goes wrong it comes off as skanky. I see an ability for a baby fade or soft draw as better control overall. The over rotation of Tiger's left forearm on the backswing works when he swings soft but if he cranks or rushes that downswing oh oh.

Couldn't agree more. The anti left moves are all over the place.

Why do some people say that under pressure a fade is easier to hit? True?

I'd say because most people that put themselves under pressure are better players. And most better players fight a hook. So it would make sense that a more under control/safer shot for them to play would be a fade.

But obviously depending on your tendencies, it could be any kind of shot. A nice high draw might be easiest for some to play under pressure. But I would think that most good players who can get in trouble with a right-to-lefter would prefer to hit a beat-down fade on a tight driving hole in a tournament.

Holeout, I have come to the conclusion that you give some of the best answers on this forum. Thanks for your help.

My shoulder turn has always been steep (rotated shoulder turn). It just feels natural to me and I hit it so much better with what feels like a reverse pivot (it's not). I basically have a Manzella Soft Draw basckswing that gets me in big time trouble at the top because I get WAY across the line with the club leaving my heel pad and falling into my fingers. No amount of twist or right-palm away seems to help. I just don't have the ability to get the club on the proper downswing path from way up there a la Daly or Couples. A flatter arm swing...sign me up! Forget Adam M. I will fly to NO to make the Baby Fade video with you. At the very least send me the first copy. :) Regardless Brian, thank you for all you do. Hope all is well. JRJ
