"Peaking"

It's feaux pas to peak before she does. If you're alone, peaking at the right time is not necessary just optional.

It's about changing from consciously making improvement and having intense exercise, to a period of unconscious repetition and reducing exercise. How and when... is subjective.

"peaking" in an athletic sense, is the optimal balance between training adaptations and rest. When those 2, somewhat contradictory, factors are in balance - then good form is the result. You're trained, close to your practical maximum, but not too tired to compete.

In golf, I guess the issue in a practical sense is the balance between being competitively sharp without feeling burned out. Is it a good thing to be competing down the stretch the week before a Major? Varies from player to player. Some guys want to play links golf in Ireland the week before the Open, others would rather compete at Loch Lomond, even although the course conditions maybe aren't the best preparation for seaside links golf.

Love it. (honest)

There's a force in the Universe, Danny.

Managing the physical component? Individualized? :)

Mind and body operating optimally at 100% - during the competition - not before or after.

As a bottom-line, most basic form- absolutely. "Definition."

Aside from pysical conditioning, I would imagine habitualizing vs. conscious intent is a big part. (nonconscious vs. conscious)

And then release of those (nonconscious) habits.

...

Jotting Ideas, perhaps for discussion:

Maybe NON peaking has (partly!) to do with overly-PUSHING conscious intent?

And you must only push precisely what you need, correct?

Hopefully what you push is correct. (to "Law", and the situation)

Once something is habitualized...is there any reason to continue to push it?

Or maybe you must keep revisiting things? What/how/when?

Would over-pushing even good intent disrupt your system and execution? Maybe your 'WHAT' command is as perfect as it could possibly be, in describing the action you are trying to produce?

Or would it just leave you short in some other way? ("habit release"?)

I meant the physical or athletic process as an analogy. I think physical preparation comes into a golfing "peak" - but imagine that burn out is probably more a mental or emotional issue than just physical tiredness. Although "burnt out" probably also feels pretty lethargic.
