I've been working on straightening my left leg to pivot and all of a sudden I started hitting lots of shanks and fat shots. I went back to basics and set up with my right leg back and on my tippy toes (I'm right handed). I hit the ball perfect everytime with really nice draws from this stance. Went back to standard stance and the shanks and fat shots started occurring again!
I've read another post here that has addressed this same issue but it never really went into how to fix the problem. I know that I'm somehow messing up the weight shift with the standard stance. Could this be a swaying problem? Hands too far from my right leg on the downswing? What would be the best way to troubleshoot and fix the problem? Also, I feel like I can really swing hard when I do the funky closed stance with the right foot on toes. How can I get this same feeling on a standard stance?
Thanks!
Jay
