How about an instructor giving a lesson and then proceeds to stop and tell the person next to you something to work on (trying to get new business).

It's all in the mind......

Some are so good they can teach subliminally.......Just send their thoughts into the students mind and transform them without saying anything!

The instructor who tells you to forget everything you have ever learned about the golf swing. That may send my 3-iron projected at his head.

I had a top 100 teacher that in the first 15 minutes stopped to talk to an NFL player and then took a phone call. I packed up my stuff and headed out and he didn't even notice I was gone until I reached the parking lot.

I'm not sure that is a bad thing for some. Considering I scored better 3 years ago before I ever took a lesson I sure would like to forget that 92 I shot today in my amateur golf league. Pretty sad when your friends make fun of you when you get on the t-box because they know you have a dozen swing thoughts and you use to give them 2 a side.

Billy Bob (aka Gerry Mowlds) from the PGA Summits. Now that is your stereo type pro, that cant let go of the fact that like all teachers we were all failed players in some way.

Forget everything I've ever learned?

Who's to say that everything the instructor says is completely right?

I think if I was an instructor, I would need the student to draw from their experiences and together combine for a teaching that suits the golfer the best way possible.

One Hand in your Pocket.

It just part of being cool.

I am all for dressing the part, and marketing yourself, but lack of effort blows.

Personally, I don't think these guys would pose you any better with two hands.

Taking it one step further, some of these instructors would be that much better with both hands in their pockets, eye closed, and mouth shut. That should be a new Jim McLean 3 step system!

Another of my favorite peeves is the teacher who never ever ever hits a single ball to demonstrate what they are asking you to do.
I recently was having a conversation with a friend about "bad" golf lessons we had taken in our lives and we both got on a certain "name" guy and came to the conclusion that aside from the fact that what he was asking of us was patently wrong we never actually saw him hit a ball, ever.
