If you had to pick a "Model" Pivot who would it be? Tiger? Hogan? Diane?

And what factors other than the selected Delivery Line dictate type of pivot?

I was checking out a Shell's Wonderful World of Golf battle between Lee Buck and Jack. Lee Buck's pivot is AMAZING!!!

I am biased but I would have to say pound for pound Bobby Schaeffer is best (Bobby Jones, Sergio Garcia & Charlie Howell (pre Leadbetter) are close, tied for second place).

My overall model pivot would be John Daly (Sam Snead is next best).

What do you guys think?

Don't take this the wrong way, but that is kinda funny coming from you since Freddie uses a right forearm pickup and PRETTY close to a "steady head."

Only reason i say is because i do read a lot from you saying that the RFP doesn't work "the best" with the physics in swinging.

Why did you pick couples MJ?

Don't take this the wrong way, but you don't know a RFT is, if you think that's what Couple's does! [:p]

ok..it's not a "true" right forearm pickup in the TGM sense but it isn't a true shoulder turn only takeaway either, it's a hybrid.

Fred Couples is Lynn's model for right forearm pickup.

In a RFT, the right forearm takes the club back, up, and in to the Top position. Couples takes the club straight back and up, and then while flying the right elbow, makes a huge shoulder coil, which sends the club to the End position and crossline.

Incidently, holen1(Lynn) also says that Couples head doesn't move!

In Lynn's world, everyone has a level right wrist at the top and the head stays still and centered between the feet.

Joe, I love Freddie's swing and agree with you on why it works, but the average golfer would be in a lot of trouble trying to copy certain aspects of his pattern.

I agree, and moreover, better than avg golfers would have trouble emulating that pattern. But no one could go wrong by copying that strong lateral move! :)

I think Daly has a lot going for him (anyone that can pound it out that far must) but I like Bobby Schaefer as a good example. I don't he ever swings without pivot of some type.
