Brian: Since reading your advice on getting more "courage". I have been working my butt off getting a super pitch elbow in my full swing. When I catch one the ball is going much further due to the greater trigger delay in my swinging motion. My wedge game is OK and I tend to hit my wedges with a hitting action with a punch elbow position. Should you attemt to have the same elbow attitude right through the bag IYO? What are your thoughts on the pitch elbow on short game shots. Thanks.

pitch is harder to do than punch for short shots IMO, stay left side focused if you do pitch (swing), especially PP2 focused

Pitch elbow is not the right elbow jammed as far in front as you can get it. It just has to be in front of the right hip. Be careful.

Unfortunately 10-3-B the Pitch elbow position has been misinterpreted and therefor taught incorrectly for many years. Homer could have done a better job with it in the book but did leave behind some that can clear the fog, sort of speak.
As Matt posted, the right elbow is to be positioned in front of the right hip. Some like to teach the elbow in front of the navel or even further left (ouch). The elbow in front of the right hip does allow a release much further then 10-3-A with the same amount of hip travel, but because of the pivot makes it appear that the right elbow was tucked in further left then it really was. If the picture for 10-3-B was taken more head on and not at a 3/4 side view, it would show the true elbow position. BTW - Homer said to only look where the arrow is pointing in the pictures.
This was a big discussion at the last Yoda workshop with some of the Mac/Doyle guys and Yoda.
