Dear Brian,

I know that you spent a lot of time with Ben. Is that procedure Ben's prefernce or is it just 4 barrel swinging? Do you see any inherent problems with it.

If YOU can do it, it is a great pattern.

Nothing wrong with Ben's pattern, IF you trace a straight plane line.

It is 4-barrel swinging.

The guys who say you can't do it, can't do it.

When Ben says to keep the "water bottle label" up while emulating a swing, is that his way to prevent flipping, or is it a way of promoting Horizontal Hinging?

When/where does he say this? Never heard him say that before.

Thanks

When I took lessons from Ben he would have an old water bottle half filled with sand. He would demonstrate broadcasting the sand out of the bottle on the backswing and holding the sand in the bottle on the downswing until the pivot would release the accumulators, thus throwing the sand out of the bottle in front of the ball, the whole time keeping the water bottle label facing the sky. Hope this helps.

But,but,BUT!

The water bottle label didn't ALWAYS point up, did it?

Of course not.

It rotated DOWN TO THE PLANE for the ole "Wedding Ring UP."

!

:)

Since Ben preferred Horizontal Hinging for most full swings (although he can demonstrate any Hinge Action masterfully) the label would have to Roll down plane with the full swivel. Thanks for clearing that up Brian.

John
