Plane at Impact

I don't follow much of the TGM stuff that is discussed so I apologize if this is a silly question.

There is talk of the TSP and ESP on the way down. The club has a certain lie angle to it, and ideally the club should be on the plane for that lie angle at impact (how you get there is different).

Am I correct in saying that the lie angle of the club should dictate the plane angle the club reaches at impact through seperation?

Actually, you have it backward!

The through-the-ball plane angle should dictate the lie angle of the club.
