"Pop Out" vs. No "Pop Out"

I'm bored so I made a video of pop out vs non pop out.
I think pop out swing needs alot of rotation and speed but the ball flight is typically low.....and the non pop out swing requires less power to hit the ball and the ball flight produces high draws for me. No pop out is the way to go, it's..pretty effort less. :) Brian reminded me on my last video that i was poping out, totally forgot about that.

thanks again

Brian why is popout OK for David Toms and not jenhaoyen?

What am I missing?

I thought pop out is when the hands go outside during the takeaway...e.g. your hands go straight back rather than back-and-in.

can someone please explain what pop out is?

i guess you could describe it as an increase in the distance b/t your hands and your belt. i.e., as you take the club away from the ball, your hands work out and away, as opposed to in, then up.

The more I read about pop out and non pop out, guess I am getting kind of lost. Please correct me if I am wrong, its only monitored on the backswing? Can someone describe Pop Out (the good and the bad!). Funny this is I hear all these terms on the forum and I go "thats my problem", kind of like searching Web MD lol.

Is there any pop out here? Took video this October, why am i standing so close to the ball (lol internal question for myself)

.if you just rotate your left forearm 90 degrees clockwise right away?
that's...pop out right?

Yes, you have a form of popout in that your pivot isnt involved in your first move back. Your arms have nowhere to go but up and away. Your insufficient backswing pivot causes your body to start down too soon dropping your arms a little behind the sequence. You then try to catch the face up with all that roll of the hands. But I dont know what kind of shot you're trying to hit here.
The pop out Brian is referring to in SD video is the convoluted idea some people have of taking the club up some imaginary plane angle drawn on a computer screen. If your body actually turns properly in the first move your hands should follow suit inside of where most people have been told. If you are trying to go up that "line" they will be forced to "popout" away from your body. See Adam Scott. The rotation of the arm you all are talking about is a reaction to the popout, not the cause. You can rotate the arm and not popout. If the hands go out, the club will need to at some point go in so you rotate the left arm. Very common problem and very destructive.

Excellent assessment. When Im good Im good, when Im bad......ditto. Shot was a soft fade with a 6 iron. Courses are closed up here in Minnesota, gonna take your advise and work on it after Jan 1st (indoors).
Thanks Kevin!
