I thought this might be a good idea for a quick video response. In my review of "Confessions..." I noted a problem i was having, especially with longer irons, now that i was reaching aiming point, flat left wrist, and playing the ball inside my left heel. Long irons were either fat-hooks or high cuts. This was Brians response...

Great post.

If you are a "good-playin'" flipper (you qualify as a 4), then is is MORE than very likely, that you are a "leakage hooker" or Draw-er.

By this, Imean that the face closes due to the club passing the hands and you swing out to right field to "play your little draw."

Now, you get this "Flipper" info and you are "getting your hands to the ball" which has the effect of opening the face relative to your old flip.

So:

#1. The ball goes further to the right.
#2. Playing the ball more forward with the short irons (than you did) makes you swing LEFTer (than you did) and the result with a short iron is pretty good.
#3. The ball was probably left enough in your stance with the long irons and now the club is going TOO FAR out to the right with the new "later releasing" MORE OPEN clubhead.

So....You need to learn to swivel better (more wedding ring up) and probably need to swing more left as well.

Some of this was covered in your response on the swivel, but maybe a more specific one dedicated to my new found problem including the "swinging left" bit.
