Posting left leg on downswing

A characteristic I've always had in my downswing is a collapsing of the left knee toward the target....think overactive leg drive before, during and after impact.

I've spent some time trying to post my left leg up more on the downswing with mixed results. I'm curious about the cause of this move and whether it's related to flexibility, etc...thanks!

I'm working on this a bit right now too because of not consistently hitting the middle of the clubface and fat shots occasionally. I tend to roll over on the left foot like you would sprain an ankle and have a lot of head and upper body movement toward the target.

I've been hitting balls keeping the back heel on the ground and it seems to be helping some. I have also been trying to feel the pivot working more up with the lower body(jump) rather than lateral(sway toward the target) and keeping or increasing axis tilt, if that makes any sense? Feel vs. real is huge too, so I've been occasionally video taping to see if there are any changes.

Collapsing the left knee towards the target on the downswing?Do you mean something like this?

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SNOeznbPO88&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SNOeznbPO88&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Yes, like that but about 4x more exaggerated.

I'm glad you posted this because I know that there are really good players who have a left knee that collapses, I've told myself in the past no biggie don't worry about it. But mine is extreme and I think it's because I'm sliding, not turning. Just wondering if there's any other physical predisposition that leads to it, because I'm not very flexible at all.
